Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, the TEDxUStreetWomen team has decided to make the conference completely virtual! Our virtual conference will have virtual vendors (showcasing their products/services), virtual restaurant row, virtual workshops with select 2019 TEDxUStreetWomen speakers, virtual topical sessions, virtual speaker Q&A with the 2020 TEDxUStreetWomen speakers, virtual networking events, and an exclusive video tour of the Smithsonian's Twelve Years that Shook And Shaped Washington DC: 1963-1975 Exhibit.
In addition, we are pushing the speaker nomination application date from May 4, to June 1, 2020 to adjust the website for the new digital platform.
We are looking for speakers who can answer the call, "Now What?" As a community and nation, we are all faced with the uncertainty of the COID-19 pandemic. As we the states and federal government try to get a handle on this invisible threat, we [as citizens] can't help but to wonder what the effects will be on individuals and businesses in years to come. What will our new normal look like? How can we contribute to the development of this new normal? Now that we are Bold, Brilliant and Badass, Now is the Time to answer the question, Now What? The red carpet is the perfect place to showcase your ideas and thoughts on ways we can shape this new normal to a global audience. On June 1, 2020, be prepared to submit your idea on how you would answer the question using the new digital format that will stream live across the globe. We are looking for speakers to submit ideas that focus on these topics:
• Race Relations
We are looking for fresh ideas, relevance to the theme and any under emphasized ideas that answer the call – Now What. In addition, to the pandemic, this is also an election year. The timing can’t be any more perfect and these topics are ever so important to the future of our community/nation.
The TEDxUStreetWomen team is very excited about this year’s conference going completely virtual and hope that you are too. In the meantime, subscribe to our YouTube station and get ready to hear some exciting ideas on how the red carpet can shape what the new normal will look like for years to come.
